Ruby Jean Shamburger, a God-fearing, strong, loving, and faithful woman, was born in Texarkana, Texas, to Ruben and Erma Hampton on July 7, 1941. At just six months old, her family moved to Los Angeles, California, where she would grow, live, and become a blessing to so many. Twenty-five years ago, Ruby and her beloved husband Jimmy relocated to Las Vegas, where they built not only a home, but a beautiful community of friends who quickly became family. Ruby was a devoted servant of Jesus Christ and deeply cherished her church home, Green Valley Christian Center, where her faith continued to flourish.
Ruby was a radiant light to everyone who crossed her path. She lived a life rooted in faith, guided by love, and strengthened by grace. She had a special gift for bringing people together. She loved to entertain and found joy in celebrating every holiday, turning ordinary moments into meaningful gatherings. Her doors were always open, and she welcomed everyone with warmth and love, making each person feel like family. Through every season of life, Ruby reflected God’s love in a way that inspired all who knew her to live with greater kindness, compassion, and faith.
Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved son, Darryn Armstrong, Sr.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her devoted husband, Jimmy Shamburger; her daughter and son-in-law, Trinna and Lorenzo Williams; her grandchildren, Justin King (Tahli King), Trenae Williams, Myah Armstrong, Darryn Armstrong, Jr., Lorenzo “John John” Williams, Brittany Armstrong, and Cherele Lavack; her greatgrandchildren, her daughter-in-law, Tammy Lofton; her sisters-in-law; her brother-in-law; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
Ruby’s life is a testimony of unwavering faith and enduring love. Though she is no longer with us in body, we rejoice in knowing she is at peace in the presence of the Lord. We find comfort in the promise of eternal life and the hope of reunion. Her legacy will continue to shine through the lives she touched, reminding us to walk in faith, love deeply, and trust God always.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and eternally remembered.
