

Ruth Brewster, 88, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016. She was born March 17, 1928, to Louis and Hilda Freeman, and was a Las Vegas resident since 1979. She grew up in New York. A retired keypunch operator for United Press International, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Goldie Freeman; brother-in-law, Albert Boccia; and Allen, her beloved husband, of 44 years, founder and director of King David Memorial Chapel. She is survived by her daughter, Tina (Craig) Hamilton of Henderson; sister, Frances Boccia of Las Vegas; brother, Irwin (Linda) Freeman of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren, Ryan (Lisa Green) Hamilton and Tara (Justin) Shiroff, all of Henderson; great-grandson, Alexander Shiroff; niece, Linda (Tony) Friscia; and nephew, Mark (Christine) Boccia. Ruth adored her family and friends. Each day of her life was centered on making them happy. Her smile would light up a room and nothing made her prouder than speaking about her dear Allen and children. The family appreciates all the kind and loving tributes that have been made to her. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Ruth, the family requests donations to Keep Memory Alive Foundation at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
