She was born February 15, 1929, In Chicago, Illinois. Growing up during the heart of the Depression, she learned how to make do with what life provided, and until the day she died she continued to save odds and ends like the Depression-baby she was. After graduating high school, she met and married the love of her life, Claude Wilton, and from a humble wedding on October 28, 1950, they went on to live a fabulous life.
After following Claude through his Army days in towns in Texas and Georgia, they settled back in her native Chicago where they started a family – Richard who was born 1953, and Ron who was born in 1957. They soon moved to Los Angeles, where Ken was born in 1961.
After Claude took early retirement in 1990, Ruth and Claude moved to Henderson which became their hub for travels all over the world, from London to Shanghai, with dozens of trips to their favorite destination, Hawaii.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Richard, Ron and Ken, and several grandchildren, all of whom live in southern California.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the United States Holocaust Museum.
Funeral services will be held at 10:40 a.m., May 14, 2025, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, with burial immediately thereafter.
