Samuel Wayne Baker, 88, of Henderson passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. He was born October 30, 1921 in Porterville, CA. He married his wife, Georgia (preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2005) in Las Vegas on January 18, 1942. They moved to Henderson from Palm Desert, CA in 1998. Sam (Wayne) is survived by one sister, Thelma Rowland of Vacaville, CA and three children: Richard W. Baker, his wife Jackie of Henderson, Ronald G. Baker, his wife Patti of Scottsdale, AZ, and Joanna Brophy , her husband Milton of Las Vegas. He had two grandchildren: Holly Christensen (Paul) and Marc W. Baker (Billie) and six great-grandchildren: Lexy, Megan, Sarah, Landi, Justus & Jacob.
He will be missed by his family but we know he is in Heaven where there is no pain or suffering. Our love to our Dad and Grandpa.
Visitation on Oct. 10th from 3:00- 6:00 p.m.; Visitation on Oct. 11th from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. & Service at 2:00 and graveside commitment immediately following. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas.
