Sara Redman Besser, 73, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, after a bravely-fought battle against cancer. She was born June 7, 1943, to Norma and Hill Redman, in Flagstaff, Ariz., and was a 59-year resident of Las Vegas. Sara graduated from Arizona State College in 1965. She was a teacher in Avondale, Ariz. for one year and Clark County for five years. In 1970, Sara was an active member with Teachers in Politics. Sara became the first female executive secretary for the Employee Management Relation's Board serving under then Governor Mike O'Callaghan. Sara then spent 18 years working with Governor and Senator Richard Bryan as his Southern Nevada Director. She is survived by her loving husband, of 49 years, Arthur; sons, Mike and Artie; daughter-in-law, Donna; grandchildren, CJ and Keegan; and brother, Mike. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
