Sharlene Engel

Sharlene Ann Engel, Matriarch of the family, left us peacefully at home on March 11, 2014 where she lost her 1 ½ year battle with cancer. She was born November 20, 1941, in St. Louis and moved to Las Vegas in 1963. She is survived by her beloved husband and soul mate of 38 years, Jerry Engel; her mother, Connie Cissell of Las Vegas; her children, Bob Engel and Paula Engel of Las Vegas, Scott Engel of Atlanta, Dana Engel of Louisville, CO; her six grandchildren, Samantha, Carissa, Bobby, Sidra, Ariel, and Alexis; her sisters Becky Richardson, Diane McClurkin, Val Cissell, Kim Tischler; and her brothers Joe Cissell and David Cissell. She was preceded in death by her father Cal Cissell. Sharlene worked for the Sahara Hotel, Flamingo Hotel, and the International/Hilton Hotel as an internal audit clerk, before becoming a stay-at-home Mom. Sharlene was a phenomenal Mother, Grandmother; a woman of flair and full of life.  She was an advisor to many and a friend to all, a woman of class, integrity, dignity and an inspiration. Her passing will leave a large void in our lives and an ache in our hearts. Services to be held Sunday March 16, 1:00pm, at King David Memorial Chapel , 2697 East Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas and burial will follow at Palm Eastern Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army. Our beloved Angel will truly be missed… she will always be in our hearts. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
