Stanley M. Melvin AKA “Stan The Man” AKA “The Great Gray One” Was born June 26th, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA and passed away peacefully September 30, 2015. He was a Technical Illustrator for Lockheed-Martin before moving to Las Vegas in 1965. He was employed by The Nevada Club as an illustrator in the advertising department before becoming a stage hand in 1968. He was a proud Local 720 Member and service in various positions within the union including Vice President Rigging Instructor and Design. He worked at every hotel on The Strip in some capacity as a stage hand in the 1970’s and 1980’s. He was an avid off road race car driver. He designed his own car and raced in “snore” and Mint 400 races. He served in the Army Reserves and was a Life Member of NRA. He was a True Renaissance Man who will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
