Steven Steve Sandlin

Steven Lindy Sandlin passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011. He was born in Richland, Washington on January 14, 1949 and graduated from Columbia High School in Richland in 1967.Steve attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho on a basketball scholarship where he met his lifetime partner Beth Galloway. On September 7, 1968 Steve and Beth married.

In 1981, Steve and Beth established Sandlin Lumber Company in Las Vegas and over a 28-year period expanded it into a major lumber supplier serving clients across the country. Steve’s deep love and dedication for his family and friends was his hallmark and he spent much of his leisure time with them fishing and hunting in Colorado and Alaska.

Steve is a member of the Church of Nazarene. Memorial contributions may be made to Las Vegas Church of the Nazarene – Children Ministries, 3825 Pecos-McLeod, Las Vegas, NV 89121.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Lindy Sandlin. Steve is survived by his wife, Beth Sandlin; son Jason Sandlin; daughter Erin Sandlin; four grandchildren; Rhyan, Gage, Maryjane and Daxton, his mother, Dean Sandlin, two brothers; Norm Sandlin, Don Sandlin and a sister, Beverly Sandlin DuBree.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas. A celebration of his life will be held at Las Vegas Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 1 p.m.
