

Stewart Norman Blumenfeld, 92, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Stewart was born May 2, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Max and Ida {Golden} Blumenfeld. After graduating high school, Stewart received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, his masters from the University of Kansas, and a doctorate in International Public Health from UCLA. He married Sharna Susler on August 15, 1954. Stewart worked on the quality of health care in thirty two countries over as many years, including four and a half years with his family as the Deputy Director of the DANFA Project in Ghana, West Africa. He was a member and past president of Congregation Ner Tamid. Stewart was previously on the board of Jewish Nevada, and also served as a volunteer mediator for Las Vegas, and the state of Nevada. His love of Israel extended throughout his life and he studied and lectured on biblical archaeology. Family was always the number one priority for Stewart. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, son David, and his brother Ross. Stewart will be deeply missed by his wife of seventy years Sharna; daughter Debora (Nick) Jennison; grandchildren Nikole (James) Wells, Matthew (Amanda) Blumenfeld, and Sachio Kobayashi; six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 20th at King David Memorial Chapel 2697 E. Eldorado Lane Las Vegas, Nevada 89120 with Cantor Jessica Hutchings officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Palm Eastern Cemetery.
