It is with great sadness that the family of Susan Carol Sarret announces her unexpected passing on April 1, 2026. Sue was born on July 8, 1946, in Los Angeles to Mary and Joseph Blasco and was the middle of five children. In 1953, her family moved to Las Vegas and quickly established deep roots in the community. Sue attended grade school at St. Anne’s and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 1964. After a year at college in Los Angeles, she married Gordon Sarret, her high school sweetheart, in 1966. Family was central to and the driving force throughout her life, establishing a home at “The Compound” with her parents and siblings as her neighbors. She was proud of the work that she, Gordon, and the rest of her family did to develop Spanish Trail Country Club. Her favorite times were the summers she spent with family and close friends at their house in Solana Beach, CA. Sue also enjoyed seeing the world and traveled extensively and loved exposing her children and grandchildren to new sights and experiences, especially in Spain, where she could utilize the Spanish that she learned as a child from spending time with her older relatives. Late in life, she became a passionate fan of the Vegas Golden Knights, rarely missing a game.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Gordon, her parents, her sister Maria Quirk and her brother James Blasco. Sue is survived by her son, Joseph Jules Sarret and his husband Joseph Daley of San Francisco; son, Gordon James Sarret and his wife Adrianne of Denver and their children Hannah, Hailey, and Helaina; son, Christopher Michael Sarret of Las Vegas; daughter, Nicole Christine (Sarret) Moeslacher and her husband Christopher and their children Isabella, Abigail, Creek and Emerson of Las Vegas. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Blasco; sister Angela Becker and many extended family members. She will be remembered fondly as an avid family historian, as well as for her deep love and connection to her family and friends.
A service is scheduled at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 5830 Mesa Park Dr, Las Vegas, NV, 89135 on Thursday, April 30, at 2pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Capital Campaign at the Holy Spirit Church at https://secure.myvanco.com/L-ZWD7/home.
