

Suzanne (Sue) Marie Morgan, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 19, 2022. She was born on July 22, 1949 in Atlantic City, New Jersey and attended Holy Spirit high school. Sue received her teaching degree at Glassboro State University. She moved to Manahawkin, New Jersey where she worked as a 4th grade teacher at Stafford Township Intermediate School. She dedicated 28 years of her life to teaching. Sue was an avid leader in her school district community and was the Stafford Township Education Association Union President for six years, as well as held a county position. Sue was described as “a formidable force for what was just and was fearless in fighting for it.”
After her retirement, she moved to Brunswick, Georgia in 2007. After her period of time in Georgia, Sue and her husband moved to Henderson, Nevada and have been 12-year residents. She was a kind soul and generous to those around her. Most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Reba Leichtnam. She is survived by husband, John Richard Morgan II of 52 years, her children Christine Scafuri and Shannon La Neve, and her beloved grandchildren, Madison and Nicholas Scafuri and Morgan and Mackenzie La Neve.
Sue's Celebration of Life memorial service will be at 9:00 a.m. on July 22, 2022, at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123. The placement ceremony will follow.
In lieu of flowers, and to honor Sue’s passion for education, an account will be set up for donations to be placed, at a later date. Donations will be tax-deductible and funds will be used to provide library books and other resources at a selected elementary school in the Clark County School District.
