Sylvia S. Tauati

Sylvia Craig Tauati-Matai’a, 86, of Pesega Apia, Samoa, This beautiful Loving Sister, Aunty, Wife & Mother passed away on May 6th, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sylvia was born in Pesega Apia, Samoa to Marie Bourne and Alexander Craig on April 18th, 1937. She went to school & graduated in Samoa. She married Si’isi’i Liufau in the year of 1955 in Samoa and had beautiful children there Samoa, Hawaii & Ca.

Sylvia remarried to Fiamatai M Tauati in 1972 in Santa Ana, Ca. had her youngest son Alex in Ca.

She was involved in her church The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that helped her in her Faith, Compassion, Spiritualty and much more, instilled into her family. Sylvia is preceded in death by her Spouse – Fiamatai Tauati - deceased 2014, her sons Melvin 2005 & Allen 2021 and her Siblings - sis Joyce 2022, Chester 2023 & Kirby 2023 that was there to welcome her home with many more love ones.

Sylvia is survived by her children Sinei, Gordon, Patricia, Sidney and Alex also with all their spouses that truly was a big part of her life, with their children… and their children, from the oldest Grandson Marcus to the first granddaughter she named Constance Litia with many more grandkids total of 21 to great grandkids total of 21 as well that she loved very much. She loved her only living son in law Kenneth for all he did and has done.

She is also survived by her loving siblings Eric, Allen, Frances, Constance, Woodruff, Farrel & Senora.

And with so much alofa from her nieces & nephews!

Pallbearers will be Adam, Joel, Travin/Tristan, Alex, Nate, Skylar, Xaivian, Julius and walking on the side of their grandmother is the youngest grandsons Teyvin and Jay.

The family of Sylvia wishes to extend our sincere thanks to everyone for the Love & Support from all our families love from the 4 corner of this earth and from our ward family so grateful for. & to her new friend cna Nicole, to Harmony hospice that gave her such comforting care that was so appreciated and felt sincere love from them.

Mom may your journey be such a joyful loving reunion with all the family and friends there to welcome you to your Heavenly home.. until we meet again..Tofa for now 

A family service for Sylvia will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9485 South Cimarron Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89178. A church service will occur Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 12:00 PM, 9485 South Cimarron Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89178. A committal service will occur Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123.
