Teresita L Fickenworth

Born on May 26, 1931, in Asunción, Paraguay, Teresita later made the courageous journey to the United States, becoming a proud United States citizen on November 1, 1957, in Los Angeles, California. Her life was marked by resilience, grace, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.

On March 4, 1955, she married Harry Fickenworth, the love of her life, her heart and soul. Together, they had two daughters, Jane Peck Binnings (born 1958) and Linda Lee Cunningham (born 1960) who remained the center of her world throughout her life. Her commitment to family included caring for her mother, Maria Cristina Carles Meyer for many years until her death. After Harry died in March, 2000, Ruby was blessed to have been cared for by her daughter Linda, Linda’s life partner Shaun Rogers, and granddaughter Katlyn for the remainder of her life.

She is survived by daughters, Jane Marie and Linda Lee; her cherished grandchildren, Dr. Bailey Peck, Sean Cunningham, Kilian Peck Reinhard and Katlyn Cunningham and her beloved great-granddaughter, Elowen Jane Daniels-Peck. She was also very close to and will be fondly remembered by her son-in-law, Thomas Binnings, Linda’s sister-in-law, Gina Cunningham and many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by one brother, Jose Meyer.

Teresita will be remembered for her loyalty and unwavering love for her family. She was quite business savvy and entrepreneurial and together with her husband and brother, she started several Meyer’s Auto Parts stores in Las Vegas. Her life story—spanning countries, cultures, and generations—is a testament to perseverance, faith, and the powerful bonds of family. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and influence will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
