Teresita Salcedo Ortanez, age 78, of Las Vegas, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 in her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 14, 1947 in Laoag, Philippines and had been a Las Vegas area resident since October, 2025. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital in Orange County.
She enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing slot machines and vacationing in Europe. A dedicated member of the Catholic faith, she was dedicated to her church communities, visiting several pilgrimage sites throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her son: Christian Ortanez, grandson: Ethan Huidor; brothers: Gary, Noli and Kit Salcedo.
Survivors include her children: Raymond (fiancée Ria Reyes), Camille and Jhoven (Gladys) Ortanez; grandson: Dylan Huidor; sisters: Josefina Allain and Manette (Manuel) Rodriguez; and brother: Tony (Lolit) Florendo.
