Teresa Lee Hanlon Baker, or Terri as her friends knew her, was born May 28, 1959, in Cheyenne, WY, and passed away unexpectedly April 29, 2021 in Las Vegas, NV. She attended Saint Mary’s School, and graduated as valedictorian. She was awarded many recognitions and scholarships for her achievements.

Terri attended Creighton University and University of Wyoming, getting her Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She went on to medical school at University of Utah.

Dr. Hanlon Baker was an accomplished doctor and educator, working in Emergency Medicine and Hospice Care. She practiced medicine in Las Vegas, NV and Albuquerque, NM, most recently as the Primary Medical Director for Armada Hospice.

Terri brought healing and joy to all she met, even in the toughest situations. A life-long learner and teacher, she mentored many nursing and medical students throughout her career.

But medicine was only one of Terri’s passions. She was a true artist - blessed with the gift to create beauty in all she touched. She played the guitar. She was a fierce friend, always there when needed. She loved to travel with family and friends. Terri found peace and serenity on the beach.

But most of all, she was a loving wife, daughter, sister, cousin, and mother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Teresa is survived by her mother Roberta Hanlon; husband Nolan Baker; sisters Mary Nagler and Barbara Pond; and children Adam and Kaitlin Andrewjeski.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Art Therapy Association in Terri’s name. arttherapy.org.

I cannot sum up the greatness, the lover of life, the most supportive, beautiful woman I have known. She always supported me from a far. Her ways made me dream just as big as the ocean 🌊 is blue 🔵. My heart as it continues to break for her will also live a life of light and with her in my footsteps. She really meant a lot to me and too bad time and situations can bring distance that never closes. Terri Lee Halon Baker we will swim together one day in heavenly Grace. Rest easy my cousin, friend, mentor, amazing mom!!

Dr Hanlon was one of the biggest supporters of the nurses she worked with. It was never a dumb question or concern too small to hear us. She took joy in teaching, growing and supporting the team of nurses under her. It’s incredibly sad to lose her like this, but somehow fitting her life would be celebrated during nurse’s week. ❤️ The last thing she said to me was, “I’m proud of you.” She will be sorely missed by anyone who had the pleasure of working with her. Although we feel the loss of her beautiful spirit here, Heaven has gained a guardian angel. Rest In Peace Dr Hanlon.

🙏 Rest in Peace beloved hospice medical director, artist, friend, wife, daughter, sister, mother - Dr Terri Hanlon Baker . An exceptional spirit that embodied the concept that the world was a better place when she was in it. In my experience, Dr Hanlon-Baker was all about unifying and strengthening community. In 2002 or so, when we first discussed starting a Spanish Club at hospice to help with patients, she was one of the first to sign up. When we expanded this for a statewide multicultural end of life care coalition - she was on board and attended our quarterly meetings when she certainly wasn't obligated by her rank and status to do so. This showed me the exceptional human being that was in our midst, as also her beloved friend Dr Lisa Marie Lyons Maloney. They seemed like a loving package deal these two angels. And then after some time, I was ever fortunate to see her love blossom with Nolan Baker and was invited to participate in their most memorable wedding at the Grand Canyon - a blissful highlight for me.

"I feel blessed to have been in your presence Dr T. I will miss you ever so dearly and I thank you for the memories. I'd like to believe your heart and spirit remains and will be ever present in your loved ones. So mode it be." 💗

I went to school with Teresa from 1st thru 12th grade at St. Mary's in Cheyenne. Teresa was smart (brilliant really), beautiful and kind. I have many fond memories of her. I am so sorry that she is no longer here on earth with us, but will remain in my memories and heart. May she rest in peace.

I was so saddened to hear this shocking news. My heart goes out to Terri's family at this time of grief.

I worked with Dr. Terri in Hospice Care. I wish all the hospice's medical director would be exactly like Terri. She always went above and beyond to protect, treat and encourage her patients. Her best medicine was her caring heart. Working with her was a blessing to me.

A unexpected death is always very hard for the family, but someone like Terri would not deserve to have a long time illness . She earned her place in heaven. Rest in peace my Dear Friend.

Family is everything on the Hamilton side. We cherish all of our childhood memories to Cheyenne to see family over the years, but especially happy that we all got together for the Hamilton Family Reunion in 2018. Our lives have taken us all over the country, but seems like we could all pick up where we last left off. So many great family memories- Christmas in Cheyenne at Rosemary/Art's place, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and family gatherings in the area- all with great cooks involved! Had to pass along the traditions! Sending love to all our family as we remember Terri's life this week, and embrace each other during this difficult time. The angels are all dancing in Heaven. From our family to yours, love to you all!

Dear Terri,
You are lined-up as one of the best gift givers, next to your step-daughter Mallory Baker and your step daughter-in-law, Brittany Baker!! I loved being a grandmother with you to our five grandchildren, Alayna, Avery, Jayce, Kaiya, and Anikyn. I looked through our text messages and messenger and I learned that I depended on your expert advice about taking one of the kids to the ER or was I overacting!!! Not to mention the pictures of wounds that were sent along to help you diagnose and what size needle to use for stitches! I will hold your children Adam and Katie in my Heart.
