Born at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Terry was the beloved daughter of Johnny and Shirley Eckles, both originally from Alabama. She grew up in Las Vegas and remained a proud resident of the city throughout her life. Summers spent with extended family in Alabama were among her most cherished childhood memories, shaping her warm, family-centered spirit.
A gifted student, Terry graduated from Chaparral High School in just three years—a testament to her intelligence, determination, and strong work ethic.
Terry was a devoted mother, nurturing her son Billy with love, guidance, and unwavering support throughout his formative years. Twelve years later, she welcomed her daughter Taylor, born from a later marriage, and once again chose to stay home during Taylor’s childhood to provide the same care and attention. Her children were the center of her world, and she took immense pride in their growth and accomplishments.
Terry and Taylor shared a deep and joyful friendship—a bond more like best friends than just mother and daughter. Though Terry lived on the other side of Las Vegas, she had a designated bedroom at Taylor’s home and would often stay the night. They loved watching movies together, sharing laughs, and simply enjoying each other’s company.
Over the last seven years, Terry began a new chapter with her partner Tommy and their two beloved puppies, Lexi and Loki. Together, they built a life filled with companionship, laughter, and love. Terry also grew close to Tommy’s family, forming meaningful bonds with his young adult children, grandchildren, and his mother.
Terry and Krystal – Billy’s wife, shared an unbreakable bond that began the very first time Billy and Krystal dated in high school. From the start, Terry welcomed Krystal with open arms, and their connection only deepened over the years. Their relationship was filled with mutual respect, laughter, and love—more than in-laws, they were true friends.
Terry and Barbara—Krystal’s mother, lovingly known as Nana to the grandchildren, developed a friendship and mutual respect over the years. Together, they provided loving support for Billy’s family, creating a foundation of care and a connection that enriched the lives of their children and grandchildren.
Professionally, Terry built a successful career in accounts receivable. She was known for her patience, kindness, and ability to connect with customers on a personal level. Her coworkers admired her team spirit and sense of humor, and she brought joy into every workplace she entered.
Terry was the heart of our family, always quick to organize gatherings for birthdays, holidays, or simply to bring everyone together. Her presence was the glue that held us close. She had a remarkable gift for choosing just the right present for each family member, always attuned to our unique interests and personalities. Her thoughtfulness made every celebration feel personal and unforgettable, and her love was felt in every detail.
Her grandchildren knew her lovingly as “Mom Mom.” She never missed a chance to hug them, hold them close, and maybe spoil them just a little. Her warmth and affection were constants in their lives.
Terry had a special place in her heart for her niece Allison and nephew Will. During family gatherings, they would race to sit next to Aunt Terry—just to be near her. Allison honored that bond by choosing Terry to be her daughter Quinn’s Godmother. Quinn was also given Terry’s name as her middle name—Quinn Terry Windes—a lasting tribute to their love. We know that Quinn and Terry are up in Heaven right now, doing the Happy Dance with Elmo.
Terry deeply loved her parents, Johnny and Shirley, and was always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. Many weekends were spent with her daughter Taylor, her mom Shirley, her sister Tammy, and her niece Allison—catching a matinee movie, going out for lunch, shopping, getting their nails done, or simply hanging out at Mom and Dad’s house.
Terry and her brother-in-law Andy shared a special bond, marked by playful and sarcastic banter. Each tried to outdo the other with quick wit and clever comebacks, keeping each other in stitches.
Terry shared a special connection with her sister Tammy—one built on love, laughter, and lifelong friendship. They often texted throughout the week and had long phone conversations, filled with humor and the kind of silliness only sisters truly understand. Tammy cherished every moment they spent together and felt profoundly blessed by Terry’s unwavering love for Allison and Will.
She is survived by her children, Billy Ryan and Taylor Fields; her daughter-in-law Krystal; her parents, Johnny and Shirley Eckles; her sister Tammy Windes and brother-in-law Andy; her niece Allison Windes and nephew Will Windes; and her grandchildren Aiden, Dylan, Layla, Chloe, Delilah, and Ava. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Christina, who passed away at birth. Also preceded in death by her niece Quinn.
A visitation for Terry will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123, followed by a funeral service from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Terry’s heart will live on in each of us through the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the stories we share. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
