

Thomas was born on June 27, 1930 at home in Passaic, New Jersey. He was the son of Charles and Katherine Albanese. He grew up in Passaic and Garfield, New Jersey. Thomas was raised with four siblings. He had four brothers: Robert, Joseph, Charles, and Donald. Thomas was involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Thomas had a happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1949. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. Lettered in track.
On August 8, 1953 Thomas exchanged wedding vows with Theresa Perez at St. Paul's Church New York City, New York of New York, New York. Empathic and loyal, Thomas was committed to making his new family happy. Thomas worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Thomas was blessed with five children, four sons, Thomas, John, Richard, and Michael and one daughter Theresa. Another blessing for Thomas was the gift of nine grandchildren, Three grandsons Jason, Benjamin, and Richard and six granddaughters Amber, Angelina, Brittney, Jessica, Anita, and Analisa. With two great grandsons Asher and Cody.
Fortunately, Thomas enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Thomas worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was Journeyman Plumber. He was employed for 25 years. Thomas always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Thomas was in the United States Air Force 1951 to 1955. He was in Various AF Base throughout the United States. He received several awards recognizing him for his service, including a good conduct medal, and a honorable discharge. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Thomas enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were in collecting collectibles, reading, cooking, and inventing. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Thomas found pleasure in sports. In high school, Thomas ran track. Recreational sports included walking. Thomas was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were football, boxing, and wrestling.
Throughout his life, Thomas was a doer and was always actively involved in professional and community organizations. Throughout his later years, Thomas was an active member of the Clark County Nevada plumbing board, Italian American Club, Who's who's Business and Finance, and the first 100 in Southern Nevada.
Thomas enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included San Diego, Redondo Beach, New Orleans, and loved Mt. Charleston.
Thomas was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of his favorites was Joannie a daushand. They were best friends for 10 years.
When Thomas’s retirement finally arrived in 1986, he was well prepared. In retirement, he found new pleasure in traveling, walking, and enjoying his family. Even in retirement, Thomas continued to stay in touch with his old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Thomas was active in his community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered him.
Thomas passed away on October 12, 2011 at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada from a cardiac arrest. Thomas will be missed. Simply stated, Thomas was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Thomas leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
