Thomas Leon Friddle

Thomas Leon Friddle, age 77, of Rockdale, Illinois passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada with his loving family by his side. Survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Lu. Loving father of Steven (Tina) Friddle, Jeffrey (Liz) Friddle, Megan Guidera, Martin Guidera and Matthew (Amanda) Guidera. Dear grandfather of Paige (Tom) Devero, Steven (Molly) Friddle, Helena Guidera, Jacob Friddle, Lana and Matthew Guidera Jr. Great grandfather of Jax and Harrison Friddle. Fond brother of Mary Lou Friddle, Leonard (Linda) Friddle, Michael (Judy) Friddle, and Charles (Sharita) Friddle. Also survived my numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Treva Friddle and brother Perry (Patsy) Friddle Jr.

Tom cared very deeply about his family and friends and would show up to help no matter how big or small the project was. He was someone who you knew you could depend on. His selflessness is something that will be remembered for eternity. He was man of few words who carried around the biggest heart. He was passionate about his lifelong career as a police officer where he served Will County Sheriff Department, Rockdale Police Department, Village of Manhattan Police Department and Braidwood Police Department . His friends he made along his journey as a policeman will tell you about his deep loyalty he displayed in and out of the station.

When he wasn’t at work, you could find him fishing and enjoying a glass of Jack Daniels on the rocks. His death has left many holes in many hearts that will never be filled because no one was like him. After his diagnosis, he always put on a brave face and never let anyone know the pain he was going through to spare his loved ones. His loving wife Lu stood by his side through it all and cared for him day after day. They shared a great love through sickness and through health, till the very end. We will remember Tom and keep him alive through spirit and sharing stories.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 5:00pm until time of Celebration of Life at 6:00pm at Carlson Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory 2320 Black Road Joliet, IL 60435.
