Timothy Paul Melendez Jr., age 14, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed on November 1, 2020 at St. Rose Siena Hospital. Junior was born June 26, 2006 in Maui, Hawaii to Timothy Paul Melendez Sr. and Daisy Donia Fleisher.
Timothy was an amazing brother. He took pride in taking care of his baby brother Rodney, and was very protective of him. A true Maui Boy he loved the water. No matter the water sport, he loved it all. The first in and the last out. Days spent at the ocean or Lake Mead, and afternoons spent in the pool with Rodney were common for Junior. He never tired of frolicking in the water.
Timothy was creative, and passionate about art and design. He chose fashion design as his focus his freshman year at Southwest Career and Technical Academy. He was most often seen with a sketchbook and tools creating elaborate drawings and watercolors of everything from nature pieces to outfits complete with accessories.
Junior was a naturally gregarious boy, and his personality drew people to him. Friends of all grade levels from school always accompanied walks home, with Junior at the center like the Pied Piper and hugs all around before they parted. Family gatherings would always have Junior laughing and playing with cousins and family friends. He was quick to smile and laughed often, brightening the room wherever he went. He was known by all to be kind, generous and caring.
Junior was a uniquely kind and gentle soul. He treated those around him with patience and was slow to anger. He displayed emotional maturity beyond his years and was on the path to an honorable and successful adulthood.
The Fleisher, Domingo, Donia and Melendez families, among many others, will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Rodney Domingo, Harold and Kathleen Melendez, and Robert Fleisher.
