Victor Kan, 41, of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. During his last few weeks, Victor was surrounded by family and friends who came near and far to be by his side.
With a hospitality career that spanned more than 20 years, Victor was recognized as a dependable, hard-working individual who often exceeded expectations. Through mentorship and leading by example, Victor was respected by his colleagues and made positive impacts in his professional environments. Under Victor’s leadership, his teams would often surpass company goals. His character and attitude also earned the admiration and respect of his customers, with many becoming his personal friends.
Victor found great pleasure in dining out, especially sushi. He was always aware of the best restaurants in town, and he was always an excellent dining companion. However, what brought him the most joy in life was playing and watching hockey. Victor played hockey for nearly 30 years. His teammates viewed him as fearless, selfless, and dependable. These characteristics transcended beyond the game of hockey and were defining traits that Victor carried with him throughout his life.
To have known Victor and to call him a friend is a distinct honor that his loved ones will carry forever. Although his time was cut short, Victor will continue to live on through the admiration, love, and respect that his friends and family have for him. Victor was proudly born in Boston, Mass., and is survived by his father, John, and brother, Stanley.
