Victoria Alcazar Ramos, fondly called “Betty” by beloved family and friends, lived in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1999 from Southern California, passed away on July 16, 2021 at her home after valiantly fighting the big C.

She was born August 26, 1937 in Calbayog City, Samar, Philippines to Judge Celedonio Alcazar and Victoriana Villasin. She was the fourth of five children: Inday Ortiz, Cacoy Alcazar (deceased), Mellie Santos (deceased) and Angeling (deceased). She found her soulmate and partner for life at the age of 27, when she married Tim Ramos of Matnog, Sorsogon, Philippines. They were blessed with three children: Bambi, married to Romell Concepcion; Jojo, married to San Tuazon; and Erwin (deceased) married to Joy Zapanta.

Betty received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Santo Tomas in 1959. She worked at Bureau of Lands then landed a Pharmacy job at the Veterans Hospital where she retired before she and Tim migrated to the US in 1991.

Betty’s passion was cooking her specialty dishes: Callos and Humba, which everybody loved and always looked forward to every time there was a family reunion. Tim and Betty were devoted to each other, almost always together in everything that they did, which made them inseparable. She had a wonderful smile and laughter that could light up a room. Betty was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to everybody. “To know her was to love her.”

She is survived by her husband, Tim; her daughter, Bambi; her son, Jojo Ramos; and grandchildren, Paolo, Brielle and Enzo, who brought joy to her heart.

We will truly Miss Tita Betty. But she will just sleep in death. No more pains due to sickness! Soon we will see her when God Jehovah resurrects all our dead loved ones. John 5: 28,29-Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

To Tito Tim, Bambi, Jojo and families, my deepest Condolences!

Mama…thank you for all the good things you have done for us. I never had the chance to show my gratitude in a special way but know that I did it quietly in my heart and in my prayers for you. Paolo and I will always cherish all the love and support you gave us. We are sad to see you go but there’s a smile behind the tears because you are now at peace with God our creator and with your loving son Erwin. We will miss you Mama…happy journey to Heaven. Bring our love and our happy memories together with you. Rest in eternal peace. We love you…

Rest In Peace with the Lord Mommy Betty. I remember when we used to see each other at the Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer during Sunday mass as well as during first Sundays for the novena for St Peregrine, Patron Saint of cancer patients.

Dearest Tito Tim, Bambi, Jojo, and families,

Tita Betty was very close to Mama and Papa. The last time I saw her beautiful smile was in 2018, the 90th birthday of Mama Roring, which was also the last time I saw Papa Cacoy. She was always present in many wonderful family reunions. She opened her door to us whenever we were in Manila. I will miss her, but I know she is smiling from heaven. She was devoted to Our Lord and the Blessed Virgin Mary. She prayed a lot of rosaries and Our Lady took her on one of her great feast days, Our Lady of Mt Carmel, 16 July 2021. Let us offer indulgences for her, although she may already be enjoying the face of God. An indulgence is a remission of the temporal punishment due to sins already forgiven in Confession. This indulgence, in the form of suffrage, will send her straight to heaven if she is still being purified in purgatory. Take care and rest assured of my prayers for you and the rest of the family.

Sad that you are gone, Tita Betty, when we just recently reconnected during zoom prayers for the late Tito Cacoy and Tita Roring. The tech savviness of our younger family members brought us together after years of being out of touch. Last time I saw you I was but a kid. I was delighted that finally we had been catching up in a personal way. However, it was abruptly cut short. God thought it better for you to rest eternally despite our pleas that you be given much more time with us. How can we resent that knowing He is the Master of our Destiny and we submit to His will. Our only consolation is that you are now in a better horizon, free from earthly pains and suffering.

Love you, Tita Betty. I will always remember how charming and lovely a person you were. Forever you will remain in our hearts.

Victoria had a great personality. She had a beautiful smile at Medco. She always encouraged to eat when we had potlucks at work. Our thoughts and prayers to you during this time of sorrow.

The last visit we had with Mom Betty was in Henderson with Dad Tim and all we did was chat and laugh at all the memories we shared with their son Erwin. We will cherish those happy moments.
