Vincent Thomas Jones, born July 24, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on March 31, 2026.
Vincent was born to William and Evelyn Jones at Swedish Hospital and was the third of six children, as well as the first son. In 1962, his family relocated to Queens, New York, where he was raised and educated. He attended Thomas Edison High School and soon after began his career at Jamaica Lincoln Mercury. Starting as a mechanic, Vincent’s dedication and strong work ethic led him to advance to the role of Service Advisor.
After many successful years in the automotive industry, Vincent chose to pursue a new path. He returned to school to study Digital Computer Technology, beginning a second career in telecommunications and computer engineering. Known for his remarkable skill, there wasn’t a computer Vincent couldn’t fix. He retired in 2010 after many years of doing what he truly loved.
Vincent married in 1970 and welcomed his daughter, Stephanie. In September 1978, he met the love of his life, Donna, and they were married on June 7, 1980. Together, they welcomed their daughter, La Toya, and built a loving home in Hempstead, New York, where they lived until retirement, later relocating to Las Vegas.
Once La Toya was older and moved out, Vincent and Donna embraced traveling together. They took many trips, with Vincent especially enjoying the cruises they shared. Even while they were still working, there were moments when they would look at each other and say, “road trip!”—and just like that, they were off for a quiet weekend away. They truly cherished every moment spent together.
Vincent found great joy in spending time with his family. He loved hosting barbecues and was always found proudly at the grill. Affectionately known as “Uncle Gus,” he brought warmth and laughter to every gathering. He was a proud member of the Ebony Sportsmen Club alongside his father, earning many trophies for trap shooting. He also cherished fishing trips with his father and spent many years participating in bowling leagues with his family.
Vincent is survived by his devoted wife, Donna; his daughter, La Toya; and his cherished grandchildren, Madison, Anthony, and Clover. He also leaves behind his sisters, Barbara, Saundra, Pamela, and Valerie, and his brother, Wayne; sisters-in-law Julia and Sharon; brother-in-law Mitchell; mother-in-law Marlene; nieces Crystal, Stacey, Nicole, Danielle, and Julianna; and nephews Christopher, who was like a son to him, Jamie, and Isaiah. He is also survived by a host of extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Stephanie; his grandson, TaShawn; and his parents, Evelyn and William.
Though he is no longer with us, Vincent's legacy lives on through the memories he created, the love he shared, and the lives he touched. He will be remembered for his strength, his individuality, and the deep love he had for his family.
Vincent Thomas Jones will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and he will always hold a special place in their hearts.
