Virgil LaVance Lawson "BLUE" passed away peacefully at home in Henderson, Nevada on October 30, 2020 at the age of 84. He was born April, 23 1936 to the late great Frances L. Lawson and John D. Lawson.
Virgil was raised by his mother and his grandparents in Centralia, Illinois. He left Centralia to join the Airforce at age 17. He would make a career out of the military retiring after 28 years as Master Sergeant “E8”. He then went to work for Boeing at Offutt Airforce Base in Nebraska where he worked another 18 years before retiring and moving to Henderson, Nevada.
Virgil was a family man all his life. He loved listening to music (Jazz) and playing cards (Bid Whiz). He enjoyed cooking out and was well known for his BBQ. He loved his mother dearly in addition to the love he had for family. He also had a love for clothes and was a sharp dresser. His talent for dressing never slipped. He would never leave the house without having a crease in his slacks and a shine on his shoes.
Virgil leaves a legacy of working hard for whatever you want, loving your family unconditionally, and providing for your loved ones when needed financially and emotionally. He never met a stranger and was friendly and outgoing all the time, but he was no joke in terms of standing up for himself or family or friends.
