Vivian was born in Omaha, Nebraska to parents, Lydia Cording McGrew and James McGrew on November 13, 1930. She graduated from South High, June of 1948. She became a secretary at the Omaha Stockyards after graduation and continued to work there until moving to Las Vegas in 1960.
She married James Hoskinson in April of 1949 in Omaha and they had four daughters. They divorced in 1959. In June of 1960, she moved her girls to Las Vegas where she met Thomas Haas and married in October of 1965. She worked as a grocery checker and a cocktail server, and she retired from that profession in the late 1980's. After retirement, she volunteered for her church at their Thrift store, "New To You" which was her passion.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; brother James McGrew of Chicago, Ill; daughter Jeanette Vignale; grandson Rod Bigelow; and son-in-law Jeffrey Johnson.
Vivian is survived by daughters, Suzanne Scano (Alan), Nancy Johnson (Jeffrey), Colleen Marini (Anthony), and son Thomas Haas (Deana); grandchildren Trina, Lisa, Alan II, Anthony, Jennifer, Stephanie, Ron, Nicholas and James; and nine great-grandchildren.
