

Wateka "Teka" Lee “Diehl” McInnis, 96, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2026 surrounded by family. Born on August 15th, 1929 in Lesage, West Virginia, Teka loved singing country gospel songs, bowling, crafting, and playing Yahtzee. Teka was a dedicated, faithful, and loving woman, whose impact and legacy will be cherished fondly by all who knew her.
Teka was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Lavern “Mac” George McInnis; her parents Elza Diehl and Ollie “Morrison” Diehl; stepmother Naomi “Morrison” Diehl; sister Lahoma White; and brothers Cletis, John and Richard Diehl. She is survived by her children Melodee (Mike) Paul, Delores McInnis, and Guy (Anita) McInnis; sisters LaVonna “Bonnie” Draper and Luella Rowsey; seven grandchildren and their spouses; 16 great grandchildren, and many friends.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
A Graveside Service will be held on July 20th, 2026 at 9 AM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600, S Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123
A Celebration of Life will follow at Community Lutheran Church,3720 E Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89121 on July 20th, 2026 at 11 AM.
