

William Joseph Colbert (Bill), age 60 Passed Away on Tuesday August 8, 2023, from Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease. Bill was born September 27, 1962, in Boston, Massachusetts to Rosemary and Ronald Colbert. Bill passed away while spending time fishing & hiking in the mountains up in Big Bear, California.
Bill is survived by his wife of 37 years, Corina Colbert; son William Colbert & his fiancée Brittany James; daughter Candice Colbert & son-in-law Matthew Caldwell; Mother Rosemary Colbert of Weymouth, MA; sisters Theresa DiGangi, Robin Allen, brother Derek Colbert & sister in law Victoria Colbert & eleven nephews and five nieces. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Colbert.
Bill grew up in Dorchester, Massachusetts, graduated from Boston College High School. He enlisted in the US Air Force in February of 1982 as an Avionics & Radar Navigation Systems Specialist. He was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Texas from 1982-1984. From September 1984-July 1987, he was stationed at Spangdahlem AB, Germany. While stationed at Spangdahlem AB, he met the love of his life, Corina. The two were married on April 25, 1986. Once he returned to the US, he continued his Air Force career in the Reserves. His unit was deployed to Operation Desert Shield in Saudi Arabia. Bill worked in the aerospace industry working at Northrop, McDonnell Douglas then Boeing. While working at Boeing, his shop was relocating to Texas, those employees who did not want to transfer, Boeing cross-trained them in any field of their choosing. Bill chose Heating and Refrigeration. After completing the technical school, he worked for a Dairy refrigeration company in the Riverside & San Bernardino Counties.
During Bill’s time overseas in Europe, he enjoyed traveling with Corina. He fished the rivers in Germany, enjoyed October Fest in Munich, skied in Austria & Switzerland, traveled to Paris, France; Venice, Italy; Luxemburg, Belgium, Spain & England.
Bill was an avid angler, he enjoyed spending time on his boat fishing the lakes of Southern California with his family. He enjoyed camping & hiking. He also enjoyed shore fishing on the beach. He was at his happiest when he was on a lake fishing and being up in the Sierra mountains. He spent a great deal of time up in the local mountains in Big Bear, California.
Bill loved to cook and Barb-a-que.
Bill read the bible, always taking notes, writing down verses, whether they were a favorite or ones that he needed to research.
Bill loved all his hometown teams - the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, Bruins. His favorite sport was hockey.
A funeral service for William will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada 89005. Following the funeral service will be a celebration of life at 11:30 AM at Cascata Golf Club, 1 Cascata Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
