

William O. Conger, a Las Vegas native born February 8, passed away November 18, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. “Wild Bill” served his country in the US Navy during WWII as a tail gunner in the Pacific Theater, where he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a 22-year veteran of the LVMPD and retired as a Commander in 1979. He retired from the Nevada Test Site in 1992 after 11 years. He is survived by Glenna, his wife of 65 years; children William G. (Alexia), David, Jeri and Judy; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered as an unmatched storyteller, who loved to race cars, travel, sail and spend time with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate in William’s name to the Wounded Warriors Project or NSPCA, two organizations he loved. Services will be held on 12/1/2012 at 1pm at Palm Mortuary on 7600 S.
