I will miss seeing Bill’s smiling face when I came in the office and his practical jokes on me.  

 One of the funniest practical jokes he pulled on me was when I reached bronze level.  Instead of putting the certificate in a frame like all the others, he wrote a note on a yellow piece of lined paper and stuck it up on the wall with the rest of the normal plaques.   He kept it there for almost a year. I would laugh every time I saw it. 

I enjoyed discussing food and pets with him.  It was also interesting to hear about all the many experiences he had in his lifetime   

He was always willing to help me with learning the travel business. I learned a lot from him. 

Bill will be greatly missed.

We met Bill a little over a year and half ago when we walked into the Travel Agency to help us with our 25th Anniversary cruise.  From the first moment we met Bill, we hit it off with him, especially Jay as both Bill and him were teachers and coaches, plus my love for travel.  In the short time we knew Bill, we felt comfortable with him and like we had known him all of our lives.  Bill was always there for us in planning not only our cruise, but another vacation, available 24-7.  We have never met a travel agent who was more compassionate in taking care of his customers no matter what.  Even after Bill was unable to work, we still kept in touch weekly until he could no longer communicate.  We are going to miss that as we will never find another travel agent/friend like that again.  Our deepest condolences to his wife and family during this time.  We will miss Bill immensely.

Being 10 years older than Bill, I did not enjoy many of the memories that he shared with my younger sisters.  Bill was only 8 years old when I left home, but I do remember that day vividly.  The car was packed and my whole family was in the front yard sharing hugs and wishing me well. That is, all but one member of the family.  We noticed Bill was not there and someone went into the house to look for him.  He was down in the basement already moving into my vacated room.  He was quite happy to see me go. 

So began our long distance relationship.  I followed his activities and his journey through Europe and the army, his college degrees and his work.  I knew what he was doing, but I really did not share any of it. 

However, a few years ago, we reconnected.  Every Sunday morning I knew when I logged onto my computer that there would be a newsy note from Bill.  We exchanged recipes.  I visited our Olive Mill to buy some odd tapenade because he was using tapenade in his recipes.  We started talking travel and photography.  We recommended books to each other.

However, the most wonderful experience was Africa trip planning.  We didn't go on the same trip, but visited many of the same places.   We shared what we learned about visas, vaccinations, safari clothing, and how to take photos of wildlife.  How I Ioved the photos he sent.  My favorite was one of Bill and Dorla, unaware of an elephant coming up behind them.   

Our reconnection was way too short, but I am grateful for those years and those experiences.  Bill often set the mood for my week with a cheerful demeanor and positive outlook in spite of the pain he often experienced.  

And true to himself, he stayed positive, brave and fought his battle right to the end.  I love him so much and will miss him terribly.     

Bill was a special friend to me.  He  gave me the nickname "Donut Fairy"  we always had donuts  when he came over to the Summerlin office.  He was always full of fun, laughs, and jokes.  He will be missed.

I will always remember your Wedding. Beautiful ceremony in your back yard. You both looked so happy. Your could tell you were soulmates. My condolences to you and your family. 

Bill was a beautiful
Man.  He loved life and lived it to the fullest.  He loved to cook and i would ask about certain recipes and he would offer his gourmet ideas to me.  Bill was a wonderful travel agent who was so knowlegable in planning trips.  He loved his Dorla and his family.  Rest in peace Bill i will miss chatting with you.  Hugs and much love Barbara
