William Loye Heckathorn, born in California but was raised and grew up in Las Vegas, passed away peacefully at his home on March 1, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. His family, including his ex-wife of 37 years, Monica Heckathorn, was by his side during this difficult time.
William was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and a passionate baseball enthusiast. He was a great athlete who enjoyed playing sports and staying active throughout his life. In addition to his love for sports, he had a deep appreciation for playing pool and spending time in the water, whether it was in a pool or at the river with family during his younger years.
He is survived by his three beloved children: Lisa Plant, Gary Heckathorn, and Cara Heckathorn. William also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Dante Gallo, Jacob Ormeroid, Aiden Wahab-Heckathorn, Neo Martinez-Plant, Briseis Wahab-Heckathorn, Sebastien Gallegos, Peighton Bradley, and Charlee Bradley, along with one great-grandson, Kyson Ormeroid.
