

Zona Faldas Cabrales passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on March 9, 1955, in Lipa City, Philippines as the beloved daughter of Onisiforo Catoera and Natividad Faldas. Zona lived a life deeply devoted to the care and well-being of others, a calling she fulfilled with grace dedication.
Zona’s professional journey was one of remarkable commitment and achievement. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arellano University, she began her career serving her local community in Lipa. Her passion and skill soon led her to join the Philippines Armed Forces, where she was assigned to the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center in Quezon City. At just 25 years old, and holding the rank of First Lieutenant, Zona became the head nurse of the nursery department—the youngest officer in the hospital’s history to hold such a position, a testament to her exceptional leadership and expertise.
Her dedication to nursing extended beyond borders. Zona served for five years in Saudi Arabia at King Faisal Medical Center, continuing her mission of compassionate care. She later immigrated to the United States, where she spent over 25 years as a nurse at University Medical Center, touching countless lives with her kindness, skill, and gentle presence.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Zona will be remembered most for the love she gave so freely. She was a faithful friend, a supportive sister, a caring Tita, and a devoted and loving mother. Her resilience, laughter, and generous spirit brought comfort and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her beloved son, Michael Cabrales of Las Vegas, Nevada, and her sister, Renee Abordo, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory.
Her visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV.
Her Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave., Las Vegas, NV.
