Etta Mayhugh

Born May 29, 1917 in Denton, MD. She was a homemaker except for a brief stint as a riveter during WW II.. She was a gifted gardener as well as a talented seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Clarence S. Mayhugh, her mother Terah Shoemaker-Shaffer, father Samuel S. Shafferand an infant sistr Cleo Frances.

She is survived by her daughter Shirley Kline, her grandchildrenLinda Bowman and William Fleming,Debbie and Marco Buteau,her great-granddaughters, Terah,Sabrina, and Jaci Buteau,Chris Davis. sister Helen Shaffer Allston, brother-in-law Norwood Allston,nephew Craig Allston, wife Carrie, and children Charlotte and Brandon, loving friends George Shaw, Stacy and Todd Ortel, Evelyn Babbitt, Matt Bowman, Janet Allen, and her wonderful neighbors at Lilac Park.

Relatives and friends my call at The Fleck Funeral Home 7601 Sandy Spring Rd. Laurel, Md on Sunday February 12, 2012 from 5-7PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday February 13, 2012 11:00am at the University Park Church of The Brethern. Interment will follow at George Washington Cemetery, Adelphi, Md.
