Carolyn Yvonne Purcell

Carolyn Yvonne Purcell, age 86, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Carolyn was born on April 18th, 1940 to the late Orby “Orb” Purcell and Nellie Marie Purcell in Leoma, TN. Carolyn worked for many years in administration for the Lawrenceburg Utility System (LUS) before retiring in May of the year 2000. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, being outdoors, socializing, and spending time with her loving family and friends. She was of Christian Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, W. Bruce Purcell and Roy Joe Purcell, and her nephew, James Ricky Purcell.

She is survived by her brother, James “Booty” Purcell (Betty Jane), and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.

Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home Thursday, September 10th, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Visitation will also be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home Friday, September 11th, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Family Graveside Service will be held at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens following the visitation.

Interment will be held at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
