
Mr. Harold Ray Blair, age 88 of Summertown died April 6, 2011 at his residence. He was a native of Lawrence County, retired from Stauffer Chemical Corp after thirty-one years in the Supply Room, a U.S. Army Veteran during WWII of the 508 Parachute Infantry, 82nd Airborne and Purple Heart Receipant. He was a Mason, a Magistrate for Lawrence County for many years, member of the V.F.W. American Legion and had fifty years service with the Lawrence County Democrat Party.
He is survived by one son, Harold J. and wife Gail Blair of Mt. Pleasant, TN, two granddaughters, Lynn (David) Aaron of Lawrenceburg, TN, Penni Blair of Summertown, TN, four great-grandchildren, Ricky (Brooke) Smith and Amanda Clayton (Jeremy) all of Summertown, TN, Mason and Matthew Ryan Blair both of Mt. Pleasant, TN, two great-great-grandchildren, Gavin A. Smith and Harrison Smith both of Summertown, TN and a special pet, Wags, one brother, Joe Blair of Summertown, TN and three sisters, Virginia Pigg and Dorothy Henson both of Summertown, TN, Illene Taylor of Ethridge, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Mae Honeycutt Blair, parents, James Harrison and Dora Gilliam Blair, one brother, James “Bud” Blair and one sister, Mary Shaffer.
Funeral Service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Chapel, Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 2 pm with Jim Ledbetter officiating and Masonic Rites by Harold Rucker; and interment in the Ethridge Masonic Cemetery in Ethridge, TN with military honors.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 5 ~ 8 pm at Pettus-Turnbo.
