Harold Ronald "Butch" Wood

Harold Ronald “Butch” Wood, age 81, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, November 4th, 2026 at Waynesboro Post Acute and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, TN. Butch was born February 25th, 1945 to the late Harold and Edith Wood in Goshen, New York. Butch worked for many years at Hertzberg and Sons in Middletown, NY. After his retirement, he stayed home and cared for his children and wife. Butch met his loving wife, Bonita Wright in 1961 and got married in 1965. In 1991, Butch and Bonita moved to Lawrenceburg to enjoy their golden years of retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed technology, working outdoors, grooming his lawn, and spending time with his loving family and friends. He was of Catholic Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Lamb of New York.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bonita Wood of Lawrenceburg, TN; children, Lisa Howard (Calvin) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Randy Wood of Ferndale, NY; grandchildren, Heather Long, Christopher Howard, Cassandra Howard, Joshua Howard, all of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Rylan Wood of Ferndale, NY; 15 great grandchildren all of Lawrenceburg, TN, and his beloved canine companion, Bandit.

A private memorial service will be held later in New York.
