Rev. James Mark Tillar, 63 of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday March 18, 2017. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of Lawrence Co. He was the pastor at Center Grove Church of God and was employed as a funeral assistant at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home. James served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Pettus Turnbo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Don Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery with military honors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Harry Tillar.
Survivors include his wife, Elvie Shephard Tillar; mother, Marjorie Weckter; son, John Tillar; daughter, Jamie Tillar; brothers, Karl and Scott Tillar; sisters, Suzanne Fleming and Grace Lane; grandchildren, Paul Luke, Emma Grace and Annabelle Allen.
