Mr. John William Waltz, age 82 of Lawrenceburg died June 22, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital. He was a native of Lawrence County, retired Senior Engineer with Union Carbide. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was very active. Mr. Johnny was a Volunteer Fireman and an accomplished Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Evers Waltz, Lawrenceburg, TN, two sons, John Waltz Jr. and wife Lori of Lawrenceburg, TN, Robert J. Waltz of Las Vegas, NV; one daughter, Cheryl Smith and husband Jay of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren; sister, Ramona Horton of Fort Walton Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Peter and Estella Neidert Waltz and one brother, Joe Waltz.
Funeral Service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Friday, June 24, 2011 at 10:30 am with Rev. Richard Buchignani and Rev. Tomy officiating and interment in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Pettus-Turnbo, Thursday, June 23, 2011 5 ~ 7 pm with Rosary Service at 7 pm.
