John James Wertman Sr., age 83, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away on Monday, February 23rd, 2026 at NHC Brink in Lawrenceburg. John was born on March 25th, 1942 to the late Harry Livingston Wertman and Victoria Marie Wertman in Chicago, IL. John had a passion for many hobbies, including reading and coin/stamp collecting. He was a member of Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church in Leoma, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Wertman; son, Peter Wertman, and his brother, George Wertman.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Deborah Wertman; son, John James Wertman Jr. (Stephanie); stepson, Jeff Harvey; grandchildren, Michael Wertman (Jessica), Christopher Wertman, Drake Widick, and Gregori; several nieces nephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
