Johnny Leon Clanton

Johnny Leon Clanton, age 88, of Leoma, TN passed away on July 5th, 2023. He was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. He worked for many years at Sullivan’s Home & Auto before owning and operating Clanton and Son’s Flooring, he would later go on to serve as Circuit Court Clerk from 1998 to 2006. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his Wife, Mary Frances Smith Clanton; Parents, Cecil and Elsie Clanton; Brother, Gilford Clanton.

He is survived by his Sons, Ricky Clanton (Gayle), Tim Clanton (Lesa), and Chad Clanton (Pam); Daughter, Tonya Haynes (Sean); Brother, Rex Clanton (Susan); Sisters, Geraldine Gallahar, Juanita Webb, and Joan Johns (Dewayne); 10 Grandchildren, and 18 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at Gum Springs Baptist Church from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 9th, 2023 at Gum Springs Baptist Church beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Gum Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Copperas Branch youth fund or the Gum Springs youth fund.
