“Junebug” Joseph Earl Garland Jr., age 68 of Lawrenceburg TN, passed away in the comfort of his home, Tuesday, December 25th, 2018. He was a native of Lawrenceburg and a member of the Crossroads of Dixie Antique Tractor Club. Junebug was retired from the Lawrence County Highway Department after many years of bush hogging roadways and was known county wide.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Joseph Earl Sr. and Bertie Garland; Brothers, Virgil, Donnie, and David Garland; One Sister, Dorothy Walters.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Cothren Garland and stepson, Isaiah Beckham; Son and daughter-in-law Joey Brian and Melissa ,and their two sons Cale and Cole Garland; Brothers, Lanny Garland (Rena), Jerry Garland (Donna), Ted Garland (Ann); Sisters, Opal Haywood (Leon), Sue Riddle, Sandra Pierce (Jerry Don), Doris White (David), Joy Staggs, Mable Patterson (Charles), Brenda Bohn (Bob), Judy Licquia Davis (Randy), Wilma Johnston (Henry); and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Visitation to be held at the Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Chapel on Friday, December, 28th, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service following at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Daryl Brown officiating.

Donations can be made to the Vanderbilt Cancer Center. Interment will be at Macedonia Cemetery.

I have known June bug a long time it was my dad that he helped bush hog at the lawrence county hwy dept up until he retired he always had a smile on his face my son Zachary butler was his little buddy he always said he wanted to take Zach home with him when they would park the tractors at my parents house Zach was the first one out the door going to greet June bug......june bug had Zachary spoiled every evening he had Zach a sweet cake or something for him in his cooler Zach would help him tote his cooler to June bug had a big heart he was a good man and friend and we will miss him very much from Jonie butler brazell ,Jeremy brazell ,and Stacy brazell,and Zachary butler our thoughts and prayers are with you Joey and your family we are so sorry for the loss of your dad June bug

One of the best memories I had with him was always sitting next to him on the tractor as we rode up and down the road and always getting breakfast at center store he was like a grandpa to me and I will surely miss him I wanna send prayers to the family and his friends

Oh how I loved Junebug. He always made me laugh when I saw him at Center Store or driving down the road. Then he’d stop and talk.He was an amazing man and friend. Much love for his family.💕

I still remember seeing him at center store all the time he use to pick on me non stop ..him and my paw paw was really close (ray garland)...we was kin I pray for all the family and lord please watch over ever family member .i know his in a better place I love you June bug now I’m blessed with another amazing guardian angel he wouldn’t want us crying he would want us laughing at the memories 😇😞for ever in my heart just wish the twins could have met you 😞always gone but never forgotten 💔
