I just became aware of Miss Powell's passing on 4/23/20. I fondly remember her from Fall River Road where my grandparents, the Cocke's, lived, as well as from Ray, who was a classmate of mine throughout school. My mother would take me when I was just a young child to visit and pick up something Miss Powell had baked for us, and it was always delicious. I was so honored when my mother told me that Miss Powell had asked her if she could make my wedding cake, and, of course, I said yes! It was beautiful, as well as delicious. She was such a kind and giving person. I am truly sorry for your loss, as she is also a loss for me but in a different way, of course!
