Samantha Darlene “Nana Sam” Childress, age 52, of Hartsville, TN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on October 27th, 2026. She was a loving wife, mother, Nana, sister, mother-in-law, and friend who will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her previous husband, David McCloud; mother, Phyllis Jennings, and her step-father, Jeremiah Jennings.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Childress; father, James Henry Detlefsen; brothers, Gary Wavrecan and Joel Wavrecan; sons, Bobby Cooke (Michelle) and Shawn Cooke (Crystal); daughters, Savannah Bolin (Allen) and Destini Richardson; 13 grandchildren: Cody, Breanna, Solomon, Bethe, Landen, Nick, Kenzlee, Zyler, Briston, Alyssa, Katie, Benjamin, and Walker.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Thursday, October 29th, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Friday, October 30th, 2026 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Mark Childress will be officiating.
Interment will be held at Center Point Methodist Cemetery immediately following the service.
