Mr. William Joseph Velten, age 79 of Lawrenceburg passed away on March 4, 2013 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was a native of Pierce City, MO, Electronic Technician and Air National Guard. He was Staff Sgt. in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Jane Schell Velten of Lawrenceburg, TN; three daughters, Mary Bowen of Claremore, OK; Crystal (Richard) Taylor of San Antonio, TX; Taylor Velten of Lawrenceburg, TN; four grandchildren; one sister. Mary Joe Bratcher of St. Peters, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian M. and Jean Mach Velten and one brother, Jimmy Velten.
Funeral Service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Chapel, Friday, March 8, 2013 at 1 pm with Billy Beal officiating and interment in Mimosa Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo, Thursday, March 7, 2013 5 ~ 8 pm.
There will be Full Military Honors at the cemetery.
