Beth was born on July 19, 1969, in Butler, Pennsylvania to Robert and Kathleen Prementine. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Thomas Chelton; her parents, Robert and Kathleen Prementine; her brother Jason Prementine; her stepsons Brad (Sarah) and Andrew (Alexandra); her niece and nephews, Lexi, Hunter, Levi, and Brady; her grandchildren Cora, Eden, Ada, Miles, Willa, Wesley; and godson Matthew Harper.
Beth built a remarkable career as a certified public accountant, working at several respected firms. She served as Vice President at Sentinel Trust in Houston, a Senior Risk and Controls Manager at Silicon Valley Bank in Phoenix, and later became Vice President of Operations at Slaughter Associates in Austin. Beth brought both knowledge and kindness to every role, but most importantly, she always kept her door open to the people she worked with. Her dedication and strong work ethic allowed her to pursue the things that brought her the greatest joy in life.
Beth loved adventure and especially loved traveling with Tom. They shared many memorable trips together, including cruises, guided scuba tours, and diving adventures. Creativity flowed from Beth and anything that allowed her to work with her hands brought her happiness. She was the crafting queen: quilting, creating with her Cricut machines, crocheting, scrapbooking, painting, and making mosaics. Her creativity carried over into the kitchen as well. Beth loved to cook and bake both new and traditional recipes, and her home-cooked meals were always the best because they were made with care and love. She had the patience of a saint, happily teaching crafting and cooking skills to those with less experience—better known as her grandkids. When she wasn’t cooking herself, she loved trying new restaurants with friends and family and proudly considered herself a self-appointed food critic.
Beth was also a lifelong learner. She enjoyed museums, plays, and concerts, and she always had a book nearby—whether for pleasure, learning, or discussion with her book club. Most often, her loyal greyhounds, Benny and Wheeler, sat close by while she read. You could usually find her highlighting sections or writing notes in the books with one of her many office supplies- oh, how she loved an office supply.
Above all else, Beth loved her people. Her family—both given and chosen—along with friends, coworkers, her godson, and many other children who were lucky to receive her time, attention, and love. She was always the first to suggest a card or board game (and never let you win unless you truly earned it) and hosted the best and funniest white elephant games for Christmas. And she showed up—always. If you had an event—whether a graduation, a celebration, or gathering—you could count on Beth to be there cheering you on. She attended countless basketball, soccer, and volleyball games, school concerts, track events, and dive meets, proudly wearing team colors in support. She was known to come prepared with a purse full of snacks for all the kids… and maybe even for a few unprepared adults too. She was the proud Director of “Camp MimiPapa” for her grandkids, planning fun and memorable weekends while giving their parents a much-needed break. Beth had a gift for knowing exactly what someone needed, and she never hesitated to show up and help. Beth brought calm when life felt stormy, offering a listening ear and words of encouragement, never judgment.
In May 2025, Beth received a double lung transplant. While the journey ahead felt understandably intimidating , she faced it with hope, courage, and determination. She fought hard, drawing strength from the many people she loved and who loved her in return. Beth’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely, which will continue to live on in the family and friends who were lucky enough to know her.
