

She was born to Sybil and Kenneth Cook on July 27, 1943, in Midland, TX. She grew up in San Angelo, TX, and Alice, TX. She moved to Corona, NM, for her last two years of high school. After graduating from Corona High School in Corona, NM, Brenda moved to San Angelo where she attended San Angelo Business College. While there, she met and married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) King; they were married on December 7, 1963, at Chapel on the Hill. Together, they had two beloved children: Shannon and Brett.
The Kings later moved to Alice, TX, then to San Benito, TX, where they were involved in the church at Baptist Temple Church. She was active in Sunday School, choir, Vacation Bible School, and outreach to the senior citizens in the community. Brenda and Bob also lived in Corpus Christi, TX, Lake Corpus Christi, TX, Kerrville, TX, Beeville, TX, and Liberty Hill, TX and always found opportunities to worship the Lord.
Brenda enjoyed gardening, bird watching, painting, crafting, collecting dimes, working crossword puzzles, reading the Bible daily, and playing music. She especially loved playing the drums and the piano.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert of Liberty Hill, TX; children Shannon (Tony) and Brett (Jennifer) both of Liberty Hill, TX; grandchildren, Kevin (Shelby) of Simsbury, CT, Tiffany (Trevor) of McAlester, OK, and Joseph, Ryan, and Jessica all of Liberty Hill, TX; great-grandchildren, Merrick, Norah, and Kaden; siblings, Thomas (Karol) of Round Rock, TX, and Judy (Bernard) of Richmond, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Kenneth (Tommy) Cook, her mother Sybil Binyon Cook, and her sister Jean Cook Pritchett.
