Brenda B. Young

Brenda B. Young (Beam), 72, of Leander, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 22, 2023. Brenda was born February 4, 1951, to the late James Alvin and Tommie Nell (Seay) Beam and grew up mostly in Alabama. Brenda was an unwavering example of a steadfast devotion to Jesus and his Kingdom and unashamedly pointed people to Christ. She shared fifty years with her lifelong committed, devoted, self-sacrificing husband, Sammy J. Young. She was the loving mother of Terri-Lynn (husband, Chris Ohlemacher) and Ashley Marie (husband, Kyle Wehring). Brenda’s heritage continues as the cherished grandmother of Joshua (wife, Haley), Shelby (husband, JT Harris), Caleb, Samuel (wife, Karissa), David (wife, Jessica), Delaney (husband, Jedidiah Bay), Presley, Jonathan, Bailey, Micah, Swayzie, Hartley, Nathaniel, Shayley, Benjamin, Brendaley, Jeremiah, Charley, Gideon, Kash, and 7 great-grandchildren (Annaleigh, James, Asa, Harris, Daniel, Ella, and Emmalynn.) She was so very proud of all of her grandchildren, and took great delight in them! She is survived by her sisters Patricia Manderson and Annette Lopez (husband, Fred), her brother J. Curtis Beam, aunts, nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and dear family friends.

She dedicated her life to see that her children and grandchildren know the Lord and continue His good work here on earth. Those that knew her well know that she was feisty, she was fearless, and she was fun! Brenda was never lacking for an opinion and readily shared it. She was a "doer" and a get-it-done kind of gal; not one to shy away from hard work. She was so very gifted and talented and had a great eye for detail. She had a love for all things beautiful in this life, and was always ready and willing and took great delight in helping anyone or anything be more beautiful. Glitz and glam were her things!

The family welcomes you to a service celebrating Brenda’s faithful Christian life on Tuesday, October 3rd, 11:00 am (with visitation hours beginning at 9:00) at Generations Church, 1461 East Woodview Drive, Leander, Texas. In memory of Brenda, wear your bold, your bright, and your bling! She loved these things❤ Burial to follow that afternoon at 3:00pm, Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, TX.
