Carmen Peter Patierno

Carmen P. Patierno Sr., 97, of Leander, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Born October 17, 1928, in Passaic, NJ to Leonard and Silvia (Romano) Patierno. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Elinor C. (Mautone) Patierno, his parents and siblings Alfred, Leonard, and Pauline (Patierno) Tor.

Carmen was a resident of Belleville, NJ for 50 years before moving to Leander, TX in December 2017, where he lived independently until his passing. He proudly served his country as a United States Navy veteran during the Korean War. For over 3 decades, Carmen worked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service in Passaic, NJ. Even after retirement in 1989, he remained active, sharing his love for sports by working as an umpire for high school and college baseball and softball, as well as Legion ball and Semi-Pro games until the age of 72.

Carmen is survived by his children Donna Patierno, Debra (Patierno) Feland and Carmen Jr., his son-in-law Frank Feland and his daughter-in-law Sandra Patierno. He was the proud grandfather to five grandchildren, Joshua, Grace, Genesis, David, and Jonathan. He is also survived by his sister, Loretta (Patierno) Majkowicz.

An avid Yankees fan, Carmen relished every moment of the baseball season and was known to cheer for any team playing against the Giants during the football season. He also enjoyed his trips to Atlantic City and other various casinos where he embraced adventure and camaraderie.

A private ceremony will be held in his honor at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
