On July 18th, 1952, he wed the love of his life Elizabeth Gertrude Korzen (Haushalter), going on to have two beautiful children, Elizabeth Battistello and William Haushalter.
After retiring in 1996, Charles spent his time Sailing and woodworking. He was a brilliant woodworker even making his own small sailboat he used to take out and sail on the lakes near his homes in Ohio and Maryland.
Charles was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary, his brother Raymond, and his wife Elizabeth. He is survived by his loving children Elizabeth and William, grandchildren; Sarah, Tony, Kathryn, Laura and Kelsie and great grandchildren; Kaitlin, Annabelle, Hudson, Grayson, AJ and Liam.
Graveside memorial services will be held Monday, October 10, 2022 at 10:30 am at Liberty Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if you feel inclined, please feel free to donate in Charles’ name to your local animal shelter as he had a great love of dogs throughout his life.
