It is with great sadness that we announce that Daniel LeFevre lost his battle with lung cancer. He passed away suddenly at Cedar Park Memorial Hospital, due to an aggressive tumor that he tried so hard to beat. On that day the world lost an incredible man, and a brilliant mind. We are devastated by his loss, but are comforted in knowing that his days of chemo, radiation, and harsh side effects are over. He can now breathe easy, walk tall, and struggle no more.
Daniel LeFevre was born to Edith and Harold LeFevre on October 13th, 1957 in Provo, Utah. He grew up in Provo, Utah where he met and married his wife. They and their daughter moved to Texas in 1989. Where he lived out the remainder of his years.
He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gayleen, his daughter, Sunshine, his grandchildren, Crysta, Lexia, Evan, and Christian, and his great-grandchildren, Liam and Jovianne. He was blessed with a son-in-law, and two grandsons-in-law. He is also survived by his sisters, Capri and Julie, his brothers Hal, Bryce, Jeff, and Kelly, and a great number of nieces and nephews.
Daniel and his wife were high school sweethearts. They married young, and welcomed their beautiful daughter into their lives shortly after. They were a match made in Heaven, soul-mates if you will, and even when times were tough they leaned on their love for each other and approached life like an unstoppable force. They were a shining example of what love should always look like. He was his wife's best friend and biggest supporter.
Daniel was kind and gentle, strong and supportive, and was always there to hold a hand, give a hug, lend an ear, or lift someone up. Whether that meant giving advice, offering encouraging words, or simply just listening, he always knew just what to do.
Daniel was an amazing father, who always made sure that his daughter knew she was loved unconditionally. He always told her there was nothing in the world she couldn't accomplish, if she just put her mind to it. He taught her to always put in her best effort, to never be afraid to fail, and to never give up when things seem impossible. He always made sure she knew how incredibly proud of her he was.
Daniel was a wonderful grandfather to his four grandchildren and no matter what was going on in his life, he was never too busy to show them how important they were to him. He spent many afternoons and evenings teaching them to fish, to cook various meals, and help them perfect several projects over the years. He even made sure the boys knew how to give, as he called it, “a proper handshake”. He made sure to tell them how smart and talented they were. He was their biggest cheerleader and felt great pride during all of their milestone moments and successes.
Daniel was a loving great-grandfather, and loved spending time with his sweet great-grandchildren. He could sit and watch them play and dance for hours. He would smile and laugh at their sweet personalities as they learned about and experienced the world.
Daniel had the best sense of humor and made those around him laugh even during the sad times. He helped everyone see the good in life and always managed to take the stress out of any situation with a well-timed joke, or clever comment.
Daniel was blessed to have many siblings and was a supportive and loving brother to each of them. He made sure they knew that if they ever needed him, he was just a phone call away, and he never failed to pick up the phone. He was also a caring uncle and was always eager to know how his nieces and nephews were doing in life. He celebrated their triumphs and mourned their losses, even when he couldn't do so in person.
In his professional life, Daniel held many positions, won several awards, and even managed to invent a few things along the way. Prior to his passing, he was an equipment manager at Perkin Elmer. He had been with them for 19 years and truly loved his job. Over the years he was blessed with wonderful coworkers, some of whom became his very best friends. He was honored to be a part of such a great company, and went to work with a smile on his face every day.
He had a compassionate and loving church family who saw him and his wife through both good times and bad. They formed many strong friendships and even now those friends are there helping his family through the biggest struggle of all.
Daniel was a teacher, mentor, cheerleader, and friend to so many of us lucky enough to have known him. Our hearts are broken at the thought of him being gone, but we know he's watching over us. He is gone but not forgotten and we know someday we will meet again.
