Delia Mendoza

January 30, 1955October 5, 2020

Delia Mendoza was born on January 30th 1955 and died at the age of 65 on October 5th 2020.

Delia was a joyous and loving person, who loved being around family the most. Surviving cancer twice, it was obvious she was a strong and powerful woman, a true fighter till the end. Being a wild and spirited person, Delia enjoyed camping by the lakeside, dancing the night away at family events, and baking her family-famous Christmas cookies that will forever be missed.

She was a daughter to Jesus and Mary Gutierrez. Survived by three sisters and two brothers: Velma Padilla, Richard Gutierrez, Jesse J. Gutierrez, Cynthia Sanchez, Stephany Gutierrez and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father Jesus Gutierrez and sister Rosemary Ledesma.

She was married to Jesse Mendoza and survived by three children: Nicole Downey-Estrada, Calvin Downey, and Jessica Raya. Blessed by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

DeeDee, for eternity, you will be loved and missed. We feel your grace and peace more and more everyday. Best said by this verse, “be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God forgave you in Christ.” -Ephesians 4:32

DeDe was always up for a trip to the lake and a good time. She always made us feel like we were family. The last memory we shared was for my husbands 40th birthday in February sitting around a fire in my front yard. We will all truly miss her. Prayers to her children, grandchildren, mother and siblings that the days get easier without her here on earth but still in their hearts .

DeDe will be missed. She has always been a loving mother, sister and friend. I know for a fact as much as this time hurts our hearts, WE never lose the ones we love as THEY ARE with us every day. They continue to be in our thoughts and prayers and maybe help us in decisions we make. Please find JOY in DeDe’s life with your fond memories and what she gave each of us.
I hope and pray we all will find some peace today listening to various memories she gave us. She may not be seen or heard anymore but, she is always near in our hearts.
