Born on June 18, 1968 to Victor and Coleen (Brown) Dow, Eric developed a passion for fixing and tinkering with things around the house or from the local thrift shops.
Upon graduating from Troy School in Fullerton, California, he met and fell in love with Denise Padilla and were married in April 21, 1990. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Rebekah Marie (1992) and Erica Lynne (1993).
Eric quickly developed a wanderlust that only enabled him to follow his passions across the world working for many different companies in Digital Technology. This would lead him to set 3 World Records with friends from Europe along the PanAmerican Highway.
Upon arrival to Texas, Eric and girls obtained Wonko’s Toys and Games in Austin and created a family gaming community. During which time he regularly helped the Dell Children’s Hospital, American Red Cross but also being a shining example of what it meant to be a good person.
Eric always made time to help those around him. Fixing someone's car, lending a helping hand or simply listening to you and having a conversation.
While owning the game store, Eric also worked for Steve Jackson Games. He loved it there and wore several hats. He was still trying to help even in his last week.
Eric & Denise sold the game store and took a long extended and much needed break and drove cross country in the VW Rialta. They made many new friends along the way, and then ignited a dream to open up an RV park and maintenance center for the VW Rialta, a dream he would see grow in others, but never come to fruition.
Eric is survived by his wife Denise, daughters Rebekah and Erica (partner Alex Tune); mother Colleen J. (Brown) Dow; sister Victoria Williams (Will); brothers Tom Dow(Christi) and Lance Steffan; nieces Kayleigh Malik (Taban) and Natalie Dow.
